Spirit Drum Creation WorkshopWith Diane Littel Drum Doula • Menominee Nation Artisan Join Diane Littel for a sacred and hands-on Spirit Drum Creation Workshop rooted in Indigenous wisdom, earth-honoring traditions, and intentional craftsmanship. As a Drum Doula, she walks with others in the sacred process of birthing their drums and forming a meaningful, respectful relationship with these powerful instruments. This immersive experience is more than a workshop—it is a ceremony of creation. Diane brings forward teachings informed by her Indigenous ancestry, years of holistic healing practices, and deep relationship with the drum as a living, breathing ally in healing, prayer, and personal transformation. What is included and the Drum You Will Create: Each participant will craft a handmade spirit drum using a handcrafted maple drum frame. Your choice of natural hide: Elk, Horse, or Buffalo (availability may be limited by supplier) you will be guided to choose during booking. Traditional lacing, leather binding, and a handmade drum beater Each hide is unique. While the hides may appear similar when wet, their natural color, texture, and character emerge as they dry. You will be guided to choose the hide that feels aligned with your spirit and intention. What You Will Learn & Experience: During this 2–3 hour immersive workshop, you will craft your own ceremonial spirit drum from start to finish. Learn how to care for, tend, and maintain your drum Receive teachings about the sacred relationship between drummer and drum. Learn about the drum as a tool for healing, grounding, prayer, and connection. Participate in a guided meditation and blessing to welcome and connect with your drum. Honoring the drum not merely as an instrument, as a sacred being, a voice of the Earth, and a companion on your healing and spiritual path. Registration & Investment: Total Investment: $300, $150 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your spot. $150 balance due on the day of the workshop. Deposit is due 4 weeks prior to the workshop date to ensure materials can be ordered and delivered. ⚠️ Important: There is a firm registration deadline because of the time required to source materials.
